Reviews
Hearty, Local, Family Restaurant 🐓
The Golden Rooster is a main street kitchen: The service staff move fast, but stop to chat; breakfast comes out hot and tasty, no matter how busy it is; and my coffee cup somehow managed to be always magically filled✨️: Bonus, they have gluten-free toast. 😊
The home fries are amazing, have a blend of spices on them that bursts in your mouth.
Their sourdough toast also has a savory heady flavor that lasts far longer than when you are eating them from.
Overall a very enjoyable experience, I would suggest going again, next time the omelet looked tasty so that is the next try.
My family and I ate at The Golden Rooster three mornings ago after staying in Old Orchard Beach. The food was GREAT! I had my first omelette here and it was off the chain. Great portion size and very flavorful. The best crispy fresh Pepsi to go with it too. I definitely recommend eating here and want to come back in the future.
Okay, well I was really looking forward to the Meatloaf dinner and sadly it was mediocre. The green bean’s, really seemed like they were just straight out of the can no love added to them. The meatloaf consistency was really great just needed a bit more love “flavor or seasoning”. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the best part which helped the meatloaf. We also had the Sweet Potato fry’s, a sauce would be a great addition to those; try a spicy aïoli sauce. Fried shrimp basket for $21 was underwhelming and the fries were dirty looking, maybe change the grease. The drinks were awesome. The band that was present was cool atmosphere better, drinks are great. Yep, I’ll come again for the drinks.
I this was a decent breakfast place. The food was ok, nothing really stood out. The home fries were dry and pancakes were bland but not horrible. The service was great and everyone was friendly and helpful.
We went here with a party of 11 which is a large group and we were told the wait would be 20 minutes or less and we waited for about 40 minutes to get a table. Some more transparency would have been nice cause there an abundance of breakfast places in the area.
This is my first time eating at this quaint little restaurant right off of Main Street in Saco, ME.
You cannot miss it because there is a giant rooster right outside.🐔
There is a bar with seating to the right and a good amount of tables / booths.
Waitress was quick to greet me and take my order, as well as drink refills.
The establishment is clean, staff very friendly.
I ordered the steak and cheese over fries.
It was delicious!
I do not know what type of steak it was but it was thin, tender and very well seasoned and the cheese was very creamy.
Fries are thicker than most places and I loved it!
I will definitely be back to try the breakfast because someone near me was eating the eggs Benedict and it look very good, as well as the homes fries.
Great experience!
I had the lobster eggs Benny it was packed with lobster and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband had the seafood omelette. The seafood was cooked perfectly and tasted so delicious. Our service was fast and our server Mary was excellent we will definitely be making the 2 hour drive to eat here again.
